| RFE/RL provides uncensored news and information in countries where a free press is either banned by the government or not fully established. It broadcasts to 20 countries in 28 languages including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and Russia. The purpose of the RFE/RL Internship program is to offer meaningful work experiences for university students and recent graduates in order to support RFE/RL’s mission by providing independent journalism experience to young people from our broadcast regions, assist RFE/RL’s outreach efforts, and provide interns an opportunity to develop their skills through practical experience, thus increasing their prospects for employment. RFE/RL offers a limited number of places for interns, which are filled subject to the current needs of our Divisions/Departments.
The internship usually lasts between one and three months, subject to renewal. Interns can support the work of the following Divisions/Departments within RFE/RL: Finance, broadcasting, operations, and communications. Applications must submit either an internship application or a structured curriculum vitae and a short essay explaining his/her motivation for completing an internship at RFE/RL.
